At 9:45pm on Thursday, August 29th, the soundtrack of the Christopher Columbus “1492” movie came out on the upper deck, where all passengers were assembled. While the 21 sails on the Star Flyer came up in the air, slowly, quietly, the ship left the harbor of Papeete. It was the beginning of my first epic adventure as a “sailor”!

Princess Cruises & the Caribbean Princess

I just returned from a week onboard Caribbean Princess on a Canada/New England cruise. I haven’t been aboard a Princess Cruises ship in about three years (though previously have been on 11 cruises with them). Cruising Portugal and Spain with AMA Waterways (Amadeus Waterways)

I just returned from a 7-day cruise aboard AMA Waterways’ MS Amadouro sailing through the Douro River Valley, roundtrip from Porto, Portugal. 
The MS Amadouro has 65 double occupancy staterooms on 2 decks and a crew of 30. The staterooms are 135 square feet and bathrooms have showers.  Beds are twins that can be made up as large double bed.  Cabins have…keep reading
